My life these past 4 years [Apr. 12th, 2012|06:19 pm]
Big John
Hi Folks,

I don't know if anyone I know still uses Live Journal. I see by my last post it's been a little more than 4 years for me. I tried Yahoo Journal and My Space and then FaceBook. Not interested in trying Twitter.

If you want to find me on Facebook, just type in my name. John Trepak

So, why am i back on live Journal? Well, sometimes FaceBook can be too intrusive. And, I see by my old posts I shared a lot more on Live Journal, for better or worse.

My last post was about the passing of my step-father, Scotty. One and a half years later at the age of 90, my mother passed. It was a very strange day. I had been there (Lutheran Home) with my daughter Tammy the night before. My family were taking turns in a Vigil to be sure that one of us would be there, two of my three sisters were there when she passed.

My Mom, Olga Dick (previously Trepak and maiden name Werbica) passed on Halloween morning, Saturday October 31st, 2009. When I got the news I was setting up my equipment and song lists for a gig Halloween night. My then Fiance, (a story for another day) me and my daughter were to perform. My then Fiance' is Alexis Dae, a fine local singer, me I was her MC, DJ and KJ Host, my daughter Tammy helped me DJ.

Well, we did the show, it was too late to back out and it was actually therapudic to work through the night. Although at the time it was brutal, we were all on auto-pilot. Also, Alexis was very sick that day. I took her to the Hospital the next day to find out she had Double Pnemonia, she was in the Hospital for seven days. It was quite a weekend.

Even though, I am now 59 & 1/2 and my Mom passed at 90 and lived a good long life, I still miss her every day.

My Mom and Dad, John Trepak Sr. (he passed November, 2010 two days before Thanksgiving) divorced when I was 4. My Mom was a single parent for 10 years, until she married my step-dad, Scotty. My Dad tried hard to be a good Father. we (my sister Gloria) and I saw him weekly. My two older sisters Maureen and Georgene, were from a previous marriage. My sister Maureen and I now live in the same apartment complex in Lakewood, Ohio.

Without Maureen and Alexis these past 10 years, well, I may not be alive today. Another story for another day.

If anyone reads this and thinks I should continue writing here, please let me know.

Love and God Bless to you all.

John "Big John" Trepak Jr.

And by the way, you're never old enough to lose a parent. I miss my dad every day and it's been over 10 years. I always wonder if he's around watching me or if he'd be proud of who and what I've become. I think I've done okay to overhaul myself over the past 5 years and get my shit together, but that thought - that wonder- is always there.

I'm glad you got to have your mother for so long, but I'm so sorry for her passing. I know that brand of pain, and it's something that never leaves you.

((*more hugs*))
